Gorgeous with high ceilings, fireplaces, hot tub, everything and anything you could want!

My group had such an amazing experience staying at the Stowe barn.  It was only 5 minutes from Stowe mountain and 5 - 10 minute drive to some great restaurants!  Would HIGHLY recommend and would definitely stay here again!!

Such a great spot!

I stayed at Stowe Barn with 11 friends, and could honestly not think of one complaint!  It was too cold to ski on Saturday, but we didn’t mind spending more time in the house enjoying the two fireplaces, pool table, hot tub, etc.  It is a spacious home but still feels cozy, it’s perfect for groups, and the kitchen is beautiful!  Will definitely be coming back next year :)

Stowe Barn had it all - a cozy, comfortable space with ample “breathing”room for 7 adults. We rented the space for our family Thanksgiving dinner and it did not disappoint. The bedrooms were clean and comfortable with cozy beds/bedding and there was no shortage of fluffy towels in every bathroom. The kitchen was well stocked and open with great work space, higher end appliances and an eat in dining area with fireplace. Everyone was able to help prepare Thanksgiving together - all 7 of us chopping onions and celery in the same kitchen space - which is just what a family dinner should be! Add to it the pool table and hot tub as follow on entertainment and Stowe Mountain snowboarding right up the street - great house in a great location. Finally, kudos to Helen for her prompt service and attention to detail with our every need. This one is a winner!!!

Our family spent a week in the barn and had an absolutely wonderful stay! It was immaculate upon arrival and it was obvious every inch was well maintained . The kitchen stood out as it's been updated and had literally every single amenity one could dream of and more ! We cooked in. We enjoyed the spacious family room and the large screen tv. The location is superb. We walked to the hiking trail base just outside our door and the swimming hole was a few steps away. We love this home and the owner was very thoughtful and quick to respond . I would give this property ten stars!!

We had a lovely stay at Stowe Barn. The house is plenty big for multiple families with multiple living rooms and a downstairs game room. The house was very well equipped upon our arrival with everything we needed for the stay including plenty of towels! The quality of the furnishings is very nice and comfortable and the house is very family friendly! There is a good sized lovely back yard and the house was very convenient to the mountain and the spot of the wedding we were attending. Thank you for a great stay!

- Shana - July, 2017

We had a very fun weekend at the Stowe barn, the kitchen is stocked with everything you need and the house is very comfortable for a group to stay in and have fun in Stowe. Highly recommend booking this for a gathering of family and/or friends.

- Sarah - May, 2017

The home was exactly what we hoped for... beautiful and spacious. Plenty of comfortable space for the extended family. Plus, the property management team was excellent. They turned a potential plumbling disaster into a minor inconvenience. Their service was fast and pleasant with minimal interuption to the house guests.

- Dana - March, 2017

Great house in an even better location.  The Stowe Barn was exactly as pictured and stocked nicely, in the kitchen, bedrooms, and bathrooms. Helen was so easy to work with and extremely responsive. The house was in such a great location, with proximity to town, the mountain, and restaurants. We had a blast and would definitely recommend the property to others!

- James – January, 2017

Wonderful time wonderful place and really loved the quantity and plushness of your towels!  Very clean and enough space for people to spread out from each other!

- Ann – December, 2017

Quintessential Stowe foliage experience! Perfect house. This house was immaculate! So big, light and airy as well as comfy, quiet and VERY well stocked. The owner brought over extra cribs, toys and a booster seat and high chair for the babies we were traveling with. We always had exactly what we needed, from baby spoons to scotch tape! The owner was very responsive to our requests. We had a small issue with the hot tub and the owner had the hot tub guy there straight away to fix everything up like new! We had a few other minor requests and the owner was quick and accommodating. We will definitely be back!

- Hannah – September, 2016

Luxurious, grand, clean, spacious & well decorated.  We had great fun. The place had everything we hoped for. Hot water tub and pool table was just fabulous. If you are in Stowe, this is the place to stay. Very private yet very close to all the important landmarks!

- Vishrut – September, 2016

Great place for a large family.  Great place for a large family in Stowe. Close to downtown, the mountain, good restaurants, etc. The house is very well equipped. We were a family of 10 with two grandchildren. We were up for a family wedding. It was wonderful to have a space where we could all be together. Lots of space to spread out. Large backyard, a pool table and hot tub. Fun place. Comfortable place. Would definitely go back again.

- Kathleen – September, 2016

Perfect September retreat.  Several old friends gathered together to celebrate a 40th birthday at the Stowe Barn. The home absolutely fit our needs. It was attractive, clean, easy to access and in a perfect location for hiking, relaxing, hitting the farmers market and cooking together. We hope to go back and would recommend this house to anyone.

- Katharine – September, 2016

We had a wonderful time in this amazing property. Everything that you could ask for was included.....plenty of towels, lovely kitchen lay out with the essentials that you expect in a high end rental, and plenty of space for us to spread out! The bedrooms are equipped with air conditioners but we only used them 2 nights. The owners are SO responsive and courteous and did a wonderful job welcoming us into the home. It is within walking distance to 2 swimming holes and the children loved that! Would highly recommend!!!

- Becky – August, 2016

We stayed there for our 50th, wedding anniversary family vacation. The property was very well maintained and very spacious, there were 12 of us but it never seemed crowded, so many rooms to get a quiet moment. The games room was a big hit with family and the hot tub. I would certainly recommend this property for a large family. The location is perfect, the owners provided us with any information we needed to know. Stowe is such a beautiful place and if I ever get the chance to go back with my family we would definitely stay there. A very memorably experience.

- Annie – July, 2016

Great communication with owner, very comfortable beds, spacious for a large group and great location! We loved it and would rent again! Dee and Sam from Branfrord CT

- Dee – July, 2016

Eleven of us stayed at the Stowe Barn and had a great weekend there. The listing description was accurate on all points, the property was clean and well-maintained. Customer service was great (we asked to check-in a few hours early with no issues) and we would absolutely recommend this to others. While staying in Stowe we visited Hill Farmstead Brewery, had lunch at Lost Nations Brewery, and had a great dinner at Idletyme Brewery. We had breakfasts at the house and had enough space/cookware to cook for eleven people and seating for all of us at the dinner table.

- Eric – June, 2016

Our stay at Stowe Barn was absolutely wonderful. The house was lovely, clean, and comfortable - and the yard was spectacular! Our kids and dog spent hours and hours playing Frisbee, running, and tumbling outside while we could watch over them from the sunny deck. The location was quiet, but convenient to trails, waterfalls, ski resort, and a short drive into town. We'll be back!

- Sarah – April, 2016

We had a great stay at the Barn. The house is just as the pictures show if not nicer. The property was perfect for our families and dogs and was located across the street from some great hiking trails. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

- Steve – March, 2016

We rented the Stowe Barn for a long weekend in January. We had 5 couples in total and left the kids at home! The Stowe Barn is an amazing space - we never felt crowded with the sprawling layout. The house itself is very clean and comfortable and the location is perfect. Easy apres at The Matterhorn and quick access (5 min) to Stowe in the morning. If we can get our parents to take the kids again next year, we'll be looking to book again!

- Sean – January, 2016

Where do I begin on how incredibly fantastic Stowe Barn treated my group?! Best vacation home I've ever rented. The home is immaculate, you could eat off the floor, though you shouldn't since its so clean! The home is huge, we had 8 in our party and we were celebrating a birthday. The 3 living areas provided tons of room that a small group of us could each play cards on one area, mingle in another and play pool in the den. The pictures don't even do the home / furnishings justice! Hot tub was epic and the proximity to town allowed us easy access to hike Stowe Pinnacle, drive to Main Street to take in the local flavor and yet felt disconnected from other homes. The backyard is gigantic, think frisbee! Can't say enough as well for how incredibly accommodating Helen treated us, giving me answers to all my questions before the trip along with stocking the house with spices and all the items one would need to really cook a quality meal from scratch. Can't wait to go back to Stowe Barn!!

- Corey – November, 2015

We celebrated my 40th birthday with friends and family at the Barn and it could not have been a better venue. The layout is great and the kitchen is a really nice space to gather and enjoy some good meals. The deck is great and overlooks a nice yard. Not only was the house great by the location was in a great spot. The mountain was close by as well as good restaurants and bars. We all had a wonderful stay in a very comfortable home.
- Steve - October, 2015

Overall, the Stowe Barn is a great option for large groups. The house lays out very nicely to allow everyone to be together or in smaller separate groups with the large outdoor deck, huge backyard, and two living rooms. The barn is also perfectly located with easy access to Stowe itself or the resorts for hiking/skiing and other activities. The kitchen is well equipped for extensive cooking. The owners are very accommodating and responsive.
- Adam - September, 2015

Our stay at the Stowe Barn was perfect! We enjoyed the hiking, swimming and geocaching minutes away by foot and the biking, hiking, dining, and shopping a short drive away into Stowe! The house is welcoming and cozy! We had a great time picking blackberries and playing badminton in the backyard. We even caught a concert at the Spruce Peak Art Center! We had a few really hot days during our two week stay but Helen and Chris had AC units in all the bedrooms. Helen and Chris answered our emails during our stay at record speed. I would love to own this home!
- Tammy - September, 2015

This was the perfect mountain retreat for our large group gathering. The barn is spacious, modern, and tucked away on a quiet, wooded road. We were walking distance from a waterfall and swimming area too!
- PJ - August, 2015

I went up to the Stowe Barn with a group of friends and could not have been more pleased with the house and overall experience. Helen is super easy to coordinate with and very easy to contact. The house has all the amenities you need to kick back and enjoy your stay without having to worry. From the second you pull up you'll be very pleased with the rustic yet modern looking barn. Inside, the open kitchen, dinning and living area allows you to entertain and cook without feeling congested. The pool table in the basement can alone provide hours of fun but it doesn't stop there. just step outside to the large deck that oversees a luscious green yard perfect for throwing a football or catching some sun. Once you are ready to kick back and relax you can take a nice dip in the hot tub then venture out and discover beautiful Stowe.

The barn is in a great location where everything you need is relatively close. Whether it's hiking, biking, kayaking or enjoying some of Stowe's fine restaurants, I recommend The Bench, the barn is right where you want to be! Thanks again Helen, can't wait to visit again.
- Chris - June, 2015

What a great home! Spacious, very comfortable, great layout. Eight 40-something guys on our 7th Annual Guys ski weekend had a great time at the Stowe Barn. Having enough beds for us all to be able to spread out is key for this event. The pool table was a nice addition to our accommodation, providing hours of entertainment. The location was great, being a short drive, or walk if need be, from The Matterhorn, and also close to the ski area. Liked having the key code to get in the front door so we didn't have to worry about a bunch of keys for the 8 of us. Kitchen had plenty of dishes, glasses, silverware, and although we didn't cook this weekend, looked like there were plenty of quality pots and pans to use. Dishwasher worked great. Plenty of clean bathrooms. Bedrooms were nice. Heat worked well. We all thought this was the nicest place we've stayed in over the 7 years, and will consider coming back with our wives and kids in groups of a couple families some time, either to ski or in the summer!
- Del - March, 2015

Our families have been coming to Stowe to ski for years and years, and this is hands down the best home we have stayed in. It is clean, spacious, warm, accommodating, well-kept, close to the mountain, I could go on and on. All of our needs were met. There is enough space for multiple group gatherings at once- puzzles and toys in the great room, cooking and cocktails in the large kitchen, pool and hot tub in the basement. Everyone had a place to go, including a comfortable bed to sleep at night. The mud room fit all of our ski gear. There is plenty of parking out front, and a plow came by often to clear away the snow. We highly recommend!
- Kate - February, 2015

We stayed at Stowe Barn November 2014 for Thanksgiving & found everything we needed to cook our traditional Thanksgiving feast. The home is very clean, easy access to Stowe Ski Resort, nice recreation trail close by to jog off some of the excess calories we consumed.

We felt at Home & will be back. The property was just as the other travelers had reviewed and exactly as listed. Thanks Helen!
- Christine - November, 2014

We relied on glowing reviews of the Stowe Barn in order to make our choice of accommodations in Stowe. We can add our voices to the chorus of splendiferous satisfaction. The barn easily welcomed our party of 8 adults, two young grandchildren and two very contented dogs. Three huge public spaces .gorgeous woodsy bedrooms ,superbly equipped and huge kitchen, very efficient bathrooms and lovely outside decking leading to a beautiful expansive back lawn were thoroughly enjoyed by our family in Stowe to attend a wedding at the Top Notch. It's true that pictures can't truly represent the feeling of country tranquility and spaciousness that the Barn will provide for your family. The decor is so carefully designed to be unobtrusive but very sophisticated representing a country chic Vermont lifestyle The location  about halfway up Mountain Rd.was convenient to all the best Stowe has to offer. I can't imagine anyone not being truly impressed  by this magnificent property. We would live to come back some day.
- Anonymous - June, 2014

We loved it because although close to many activities the location was perfect. We were in a cove with lots of trees around us, pretty backyard and a deck that we used a lot and a brook below that was soothing to listen to. The house is spacious enough that even with 11 people including three children we never felt on top of one another. We enjoyed the fireplaces, napping , reading, playing pool or watching tv. Everyone found their space! The kitchen had everything we needed, the beds were comfortable and the house is well maintained. We will be back!
- Pam - June, 2014

Stowe Barn is a beautiful home which well exceeded our expectations. It's location is perfect! Close to town and close to Stowe mountain. It was beyond comfortable. Very homey, not over pretentious yet very upscale. Perfectly balanced. Beautifully decorated. Wonderful if traveling with another family... or two so you can spilt the price. It is pricey!
- Anonymous - April, 2014

We rented this home for a ladies weekend in June and it was more than we ever expected. The house is absolutely gorgeous and looks like it is out of a magazine. There was plenty of room for all 11 of us. We all agreed that we would go back in a heartbeat!
- Anonymous - February, 2014

We recently stayed at the Stowe Barn over the long Veteran's Day weekend with four other couples (10 people, 1 dog in all) and had a fantastic time. The house fit our group perfectly; it was big enough so that we had enough space to spread out, yet cozy enough to make us all feel very comfortable. We did a lot of cooking and found that the kitchen had all that we needed. We also really enjoyed the fireplaces and the hot tub. Overall, the place was in great condition and the furnishings were all nice and comfortable.I would highly recommend this house.
- Lauren – November, 2013

Great place to stretch out & relax! Luxury at it's finest & yet a very comfortable home.
- Sandy – October, 2013

We stayed at the Stowe Barn for a girls weekend with 12 of us. I cannot express in words how nice this house is. The decor represents the rustic feel of Vermont perfectly. The beds were extremely comfortable, the house was immaculate, and it had all the amenities that you could need. We are already discussing when we can go back. Absolute perfection.
- Sarah – June, 2013

We had a fantastic weekend at the Stowe Barn. There were 10 of us, all URI alumni ’07, and there was plenty of room for all of us! The house was so clean and with all the small details and amenities it felt like we were staying in a hotel! The beds were also so comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked with all the plates and dishes we needed for cooking dinner all 3 nights we stayed there. We did have a small issue with the hot tub not warming up, but the Rental place called us back right away, as well as the Owner, to give us an update and they sent someone over to solve the problem that day. The house is minutes from Mt. Mansfield and also very close to town. All in all, we had a great weekend and are looking forward to coming back next year!
- Amber – February, 2013

We had a fantastic time during our stay at Stowe Barn. There wee 8 in our party from England for our ski trip. The pictures and description of the property were exactly as we found it and we were delighted with the accommodation. The property was very clean and maintained to a very high standard and we found everything that we needed.
It was a great base to get up to the slopes as is it was a 5 minute drive to all the main lifts. We enjoyed a number of local restaurants and shops and the convenience store just a few hundred meters away was really handy.
I would recommend it to any friends or family and in fact we as a party are already planning our next trip back to the Stowe Barn.
Thank you for providing such a great base for our fantastic holiday.

- Graham – February, 2013

We loved staying at Stowe Barn on our recent visit over MLK weekend. The floor plan is perfect for families with children as the kids can hangout on the lower floor and sleep together while the adults enjoy their time chatting and relaxing in the two areas with fireplaces. The beds were the most comfortable that we have experienced with a rental home – and this is our sixth home we have stayed at over the past three years. The mudroom area was great for gearing up for a great day of skiing and convenient for storing gear. The location cannot be beat as we were minutes from the mountain and around the corner from the Matterhorn. We hope to visit and stay at Stowe Barn on our future visits to Stowe.
Many thanks!
- Stephanie – January, 2013

We spent a weekend at the Stowe Barn to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The location of the home is perfect; very close to the ski resort, as well as all the shops and restaurants on Mountain Rd. We brought our two year old with us and he had a wonderful time. The home is very kid friendly with a baby gate, high chair, toys, a chalk board, and monitor all provided. The home was big enough for 3 families, but cozy for just a few people. The beds and comforters were so warm and comfortable as well. We would definitely go back.
- Brenna – November, 2012

Nine of us were so pleased with our accommodations at the Restored Barn in Stowe!
Beautiful, very clean, new, quiet, and plenty of room for everyone to spread out and enjoy the comforts of this home. We enjoyed the hot tub after hiking Mt. Mansfield and a few games of pool while some friends enjoyed the warm summer nights on the spacious deck!
We hated to leave our homeaway and hope to return next year!!
A splendid retreat for a large gathering of friends and family!
Thanks so much!

Where do I begin? Do I want to share this wonderful place? The Stowe Barn and the location are just perfect. Our vacation party consisted of two families, totaling 7 people( 3 adults, 4 teens, ages 16 – 19) and a 1 1/2 year old Golden Retriever. The house is beautiful and relaxing. It is quite large, well stocked, and very accommodating. The hot tub and pool table were just perfect for our group. The house is so large that we had trouble finding people sometimes.

The Staff @ Stowe Country Homes, which manages the property for the owners, is excellent. Colleen, Reggie, and Brenda were very helpful. Brenda assisted us in having a Birthday cake and balloons on arrival for the 16th B/D of one of our teens.

We enjoyed hiking and waterfall rock jumping, and this home is within distance of so many activities. The swimming hole, 5 minutes down the street, was fabulous. Our dog learned to swim there and at Sterling Pond/Lake. Bingham Falls path was accessible just up the hill about 100 feet. It was a little tough for dogs there, quite steep, but what a gorgeous waterfall and gorges. We ventured to Jay Peak Resort, to check out the indoor waterpark, just incredible.

We rented bikes one day and rode the 5.5 mile town bike path and it was a great way to see the town of Stowe. The gentleman at Pinnacle Bike Rentals, (just a short distance down Mountain Road and at top end of bike path), was very nice and helpful.

Mountain Road between Stowe Ski Resort and Smugglers Notch is just hysterical. There are a lot of hair pin turns and even a one lane section where only one car can pass. I just never expected this. What an experience.

Downtown Stowe is very nice. Shops and local Artists. Dining: Frida’s, a healthier take on Mexican food, the Ice cream shop, the pretty new Japanese steak house, & Pie-casso. Pie-in-the-Sky, has a wonderful Caesar Salad. We missed Mattathorn, we will try next time.

Waterbury is about 15 – 20 minutes away. The Ben and Jerry’s Factory is there, honestly the tour is so short that I feel they should not charge $ 4 per person, or at least give people a coupon at the end of the tour. The Alchemist Brewery is very interesting, along with the story of how it survived Hurricane Irene last year. The Cabot Annex is a great yummy stop, Hopefully next time we will make it to Cabot for the Tour. Also, the Glass blowing studio was a fun little stop. There was just so much to do locally that we did not venture too far.

Thank you!

Stowe Barn is a wonderfully designed and comfortable spacious home with a totally Vermont feeling. Wood floors, dramatic high ceilings and fireplaces in the common rooms. Plenty of cubbyholes for multifamily gear. Our summer stay was comfortable with cross ventilation from screened windows with the added touch of AC in the bedrooms. The landscaped yard has nice plantings and hideaways for summer reading. Hot tub and nearby swimming hole add to the summer feeling. The Stowe area is great in the summer. Wonderful dining; lots to do and see. Lots of gorgeous sightseeing. Our favorite vista was Belvidere Lake north of Jeffersonville.

I loved this home, everything about it! The layout was wonderful for a large family and our children loved the back yard and the swimming hole down the road. There was more then enough room for everyone to spread out or get together for a nice meal. The bedding was very high end and the towels were nice and fluffy. I was a bit worried about the dogs because most of the bedding was white but we managed to keep them off the beds without a problem (if you are traveling with pets here make sure you bring lots of your own dog towels). The beds were so comfortable my 87 year old grandmother and my parents went home and bought a new bed because they felt so good when they woke up while sleeping there. I will say there are a lot of stairs in the home, something I loved but if you have elderly people traveling with you there is not a bedroom on the first floor. The location to downtown Stowe and the mountain was very convenient and I can’t tell you how many times we visited the little store at the end of the road. The family fished every day and we hiked up and down Stowe Mt. We loved everything about this trip and so did our friends and family. We can’t wait to come back to Stowe Barn again. I’m sure that Helen will be seeing us again year after year.

We just returned from this house over February vacation. We had two families share the house and it was fantastic. Very close to the mountain and all the restaurants and shops on Mountain Road. There was plenty of room for our 4 Adults and 6 Kids. The house was immaculate when we checked in and had every amenity you could want. The kitchen set up is nice and open with plenty of seating for all of us and a nice sitting area with gas fireplace so the kids could play games while the adults cooked. We will definitely rent this house again next year, what a great vacation, and the 2 feet of fresh powder did not hurt!

We spent NYE weekend at the Stowe Barn and were blown away by its quality. Quite honestly the pictures online don’t do it justice. The house is immaculate; high quality cookware, kitchen appliances, bedding, towels, new 6 person hot tub, and what appears to be a brand new pool table. We definitely noticed the little things – ease of check-in via the rental office, friendliness of the owner, cleanliness of the house, newer board games and books for sitting around the fireplace with, plenty of pre-made ice in the freezer, etc. Our party included 11 adults, and there was plenty of room for all. Also, the house is walking distance (about 1/2 mile) from the Mattahorn Bar, which is where celebrated NYE. Skiing is about a 5 minute drive, very convenient. An unexpected surprise – 2 REAL huge Christmas trees (one in each living room), fully decorated upon our arrival. Each living room is also equipped with a gas fireplace, which put off plenty of heat. We are looking forward to another stay at the Stowe Barn either later this winter or next year!

I had high expectations for a weekend in Vermont with memories of wonderful New England vacations from forty years ago. Stowe Barn was everything I could have wished for. I was there with my family, young grandchildren and two dogs but there was plenty of spacious living. With more people, there would still be separate areas for the needs of everybody, whether it be active pool or games, TV/movie watching, listening to music, quite reading, intimate conversations or general social interactivity (fun!). The overall impression of the house is old New England style, but all the furnishings and fittings are modern, clean and very comfortable. I wish I had had more time to explore all that the area offers – the hiking trail just across the road gave me a taste of the possibilities. Highly recommended!
